Team Dignitas sells League of Legends EU squad to Follow eSports

Team Dignitas announced in September that, with both its North American and European League of Legends squads qualifying for the League Championship Series, it would divest itself of one of them as required by LCS rules. Today it revealed that it will retain its North American team, and that the European squad will compete next year under the Follow eSports banner. "I am happy to have found who I feel is a great buyer for our EU LCS slot," Team Dignitas Managing Director Michael "Odee...

Hi-Rez makes previous Tribes games free

Hi-Rez has made all the Tribes games available for free, as well as the Earthsiege series that predated it. They're all PC titles, with the exception of Tribes: Aerial Assault, which I think might be the first PS2 game released as freeware by its developer. (It comes as an .iso file, so you'll be able to play it in an emulator and on chipped/modded PS2s.) XCOM 2’s “Dark Events” will change the game in unpredictable ways

Near the end of the XCOM 2 'Welcome to the Avenger' trailer that surfaced in August, we caught a brief glimpse of something called "Dark Events." The narrator described them as "enemy black ops projects" and made it very clear that they're all different kinds of bad news. He wasn't kidding. EKO Software's game is now on Steam Early Access, with 20% off for the next week or so. The Early Access version currently comprises an open world sandbox, ...

Dawn of War 2’s Ridiculously Bloody Blood Pack makes game ridiculously bloody

Have you had Halloween rammed down your throat enough yet? Here's a little blood to wash it down. Well, a lot of blood. OK, all the blood, courtesy of Dawn of War 2: Retribution's surprise 'Ridiculously Bloody Blood Pack' DLC. You'll need to fork out £1.59/$1.99/€1.99 for this belated add-on, which adds so much blood that it "can affect battle visibility when in combat". (Don't worry, it can be turned off.) The add-on increases the volume and frequency of blood to silly proportions, as yo...
