Batman Arkham City for Wii U is a third person action game set in the Batman universe. It’s a sequel to Batman Arkham Asylum, and players once again assume the role of Batman. This time, the game takes place in a part of Gotham City that has been turned into a prison. The Batman Arkham City Wii U version is officially subtitled “Armored Edition”, and include several Wii U specific features for the tablet controller. Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition will launch in 2012 as a Wii U launch title. The game was originally developed and released for the current generation consoles and PC in 2011. Developer RockSteady Studios and publisher Warner Bros. started work on the Batman Arkham City Wii U version at the end of 2011, working with Nintendo on implementing the GamePad controller and adding unique features to the game.
Batman Arkham City Wii U features
Batman Atkham City on the Wii U plays similarly to other versions — it’s still a third person action adventure game that focuses on stealth and combat. However, the Wii U GamePad controller is used to provide access to the wrist-mounted Bat-computer. This allows players to select weapons and gadgets, take forensic evidence, and even steer the Batarang. The Batman Arkham City Wii U edition will take advantage of the more powerful Wii U hardware and will include improved visuals compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions. This is mostly limited to higher resolution textures.
